Established in 1875, Neville are an independent funeral directors with several branches located across the south of England. We were tasked with creating a new brand identity for the business, as part of a wider marketing strategy which also included creating their new website.

A website built to perform
The website we created for Neville is modern, engaging and easy-to-use. Built to perform well on all devices and appear high on search engines, the new website had an immediate impact on Neville’s business – with a massive 45% increase in user visits in its first 12 months of being live.
A user experience that builds loyalty
The Neville website is built with many useful features which offer even more help, support and clarity to their customers – providing an excellent user experience. In fact, these useful features have resulted in a marked increase in users returning to the website, as well as longer session times, with users spending an average of 15% longer on the Neville website each time they visit – 15% may not sound like much, but this is a massive increase in website usability.
Signage that stands out
Each of Neville’s eight branches has its own distinctive appearance – the external signage we designed not only showcased the strong new brand, but also created a joined-up, consistent look and feel across all of their business premises.
The new signage provides a smart and professional, yet friendly and welcoming look. The new deep blue brand colour and golden ring housing the ‘capital N’ logo, are both memorable and provide strong stand out from the roadside.

When creating Neville’s new brand identity, it was important that we built upon the excellent reputation they had established in the community – positioning them as a reassuringly confident, friendly and professional presence. The new brand presents a modern business built on traditional values, with compassion and authenticity at its core.

From their signage to their stationery, the new Neville brand has been successfully applied to every ‘touchpoint’ they have with their customers – we even helped to rename their Funeral plans to make sure they were ‘on brand’.
This consistency ensures that, much like the ‘big corporates’, every step of the customer journey offers the same professional look, feel and tone. Building trust and reassurance between the client and the Neville brand.

Neville put a big emphasis on getting all of the little details right. Using our sector knowledge and branding expertise, we decided to emphasise that point through their brand messaging – We created the following memorable line, which you’ll see applied consistently across the new brand:

A picture pains a thousand words
Strong images play such an important role in telling your brand story and making a connection with your target audience. We used our sector knowledge and our art direction skills to ensure Neville captured high-quality, relevant imagery with an authentic ‘real life’ feel.
The Newenglish team really embraced and worked to understand our business values and went over and above to assist in rethinking our brand, website and messaging. The project was fast moving with an immovable end date but we achieved our schedule and were delighted with the end results and the impact it has had on our team and the communities in which we serve.
